Everything bigger in Texas. (Sam)

I don't usually like to blog more than one time in one state, but everythings bigger in Texas- including the amount of time between games apparently- so here's the first half.
We got to Houston & walk into Brett & his girlfriend's apartment.  What do you know, I know Sam from freshman year at OU!  Before we went to dinner, they introduced us to their amazingly perfect schnoodle, Google.  She's a schnauzer poodle mix and the new love of my life. They took us to a Tex-Mex restaurant which was amazing, I'm really getting used to this Mexican food 3 times a week thing.  We had a couple of beers & watched some TV for a very relaxing first night.
Friday, we spent the day at the pool at Sam & Brett's apartment complex before the game.  The entire time I was thinking about Google.  We went to a place called The Flying Saucer before and after the game, which had 80-something beers on tap & 300 total.  You can join a UFO club where once you try every beer, you become infamous with your name on a saucer for their wall.  The saucer wall consists of 7 walls and a ceiling... covered in saucers.  I tried a couple of different beers & we had ginormous soft pretzels which are quite possibly the best pretzels invented.
Saturday we went to Galveston for pizza slices & the beach.  The water was more hot tub than ocean water, but the breeze on the shore made it much easier to lay out for a couple of hours.  With the SPF 70 on of course.  We stayed in and hung out with beers, brajitas, and Taken.
On Monday I was forced to say goodbye to Google, Sam & Brett.  We had an awesome time in Houston!

We went to San Antonio for the day to see The Alamo, and the Riverwalk.  We had lunch with Christie who was in town for work & it was great to see her.

Once we arrived to Austin I realized one of the girls we're staying with is cousins with my friend from high school- so that makes 75 out of the 15 cities we've been where I've known someone who knows someone who's cousin is someone else.  Its been getting more standard.  We went out last night & tonight we're making steaks....and going out again.  This is also getting pretty standard.  I don't hate it.

Until Dallas
