Texas: So Big it Took A Week to See it All. (Sam)

Our week long break in Texas has been an eventful yet restful one.  The rest of our stay in Austin included a fabulous shish kabob dinner, seeing millions of bats fleeing the "bat bridge", $1 cans of Tecate (A Texan's Corona) & a newly strong bond between Marisa & me.  At 11p.m. I decided to get the tattoo I've been wanting, and when they finally squeezed me in at 3a.m., Marisa was kind enough to donate her now-likely-broken hand to me while the artist went to work on my side. Now, I'll always remember our vacation in Austin.  Wednesday we left for Dallas, with a little detour to visit the Pavias' neighbors from Nashville- of course they don't live in Nashville anymore, but you seem like a bright reader, I'm sure you figured that out already.  We spent the day laying on their doc, swimming in the lake, and eventually going out on a boat ride at sunset.  I keep telling you guys we lead this tough life, but you don't seem to think I'm serious.  Weird.

Yesterday we got to Dallas, and my Dad's friend from when he was a kid, Don's house.  After the Dos XX went down like water, Don, his son Zach & niece Amanda took us out to dinner at....wait for it....a Mexican restaurant.  We can't get enough during this trip, each place gets better and better!  We sat around the pool for a little while longer that night & I played cards with Amanda.  She beat me. Twice.

Today we're going to the Texas game.  Don's company was kind enough to donate 4 tickets behind home plate for the game.  Probably our closest (legitimately) seats this entire trip.
It's been great hearing Don's stories about my dad, and even though I was already given the "don't hold anything you hear against me, i'll deny it all" disclaimer, I'm sure I can use some of it as ammo in the near future.

Many people ask us if we're going to write a book on our trip.  It started to become more and more of a good idea to me in recent days, so I've decided to see what I can do.  Hopefully I don't get bored with it after 20 minutes of writing, but I'll keep you updated in future blogs.

Smell ya later,
Sam.
